#revelations3

The blue belt around the cube opened. Other lights came out and at a vertiginous speed, came to meet the giants. As they stood a few feet above the ground, the lights let out a loud roar. Like the sound of a gigantic cavalcade. Plumes of dust rose in the sky, then, at the same time as the silence took place, it fell back to reveal the ships of another humanity ...

The giants still had their faces against the ground. One of the boldest allowed himself to look up. He saw the shuttles, dressed like young girls going to the ball. They were like hot coals, sparkling with a thousand fires. To better distinguish the details he put his hand in front of his eyes, while slightly spreading his fingers. The dust was completely down. The giants had become as gray as their barren land. The most gallant exclaimed:

"Look, look, all of you! See this wonderful show!"

One after the other, the survivors of this last judgment rose up. They dared to look in the face what could have been a fantastic tale. But no, they did not dream. They could pinch themselves, what was in front of their children's eyes, it was the reality. They could not believe it. She was very present, this thing, these shuttles, these arches of the last hour. Yes, they came to take a batch of this last bastion of a race which thought itself, yesterday, still the greatest of all the universe.

After the excitement of the wonderful spectacle, anxiety reappeared. They did not yet know what was waiting for them in the ships ... The sky did not give them time to let their ancestral fear rise. They did not have a choice. They had to trust ... They had to be worthy of this man who, against all odds, had carried them on his shoulders, and was able to give birth in them, the hope that this whole story would end well.

As for Jean, he did not seem to be more surprised than that. He had remained impassive, his thoughts still in an elsewhere of which he alone had the secret ... In a few seconds, he had become the pastor of a scattered flock. He had brought some of his sheep back to the sheepfold. The others, those who had their heads hard, those who were not afraid of the wolf, they remained in the mountains, feeling safe from all threats. He thought about it. It was bothering him that he had not managed the big gathering. Maybe that was the mark of destiny.

Each group of fifty boarded the shuttles. They followed each other with frenzy. The place looked like the heart of a tornado that removes everything in its path.

Inside the ships, everything was like a dream. The giants were speechless. As if by magic, they no longer felt fear ... Just a great serenity ...

The pilots did not turn their eyes away from the control panels. None of the giants knew what they looked like.

The last shuttles made their stopover. Jean had sacrificed to the rite of the old captain. When the boat sinks, the pasha must remain last on board. He glanced one last time at the place of this wonderful world that had been the land of giants. She was nothing but dust. Everything is dust and everything goes back to the dust ... It must be so. He had no regrets. A chapter in the history of the giants stopped there. Another would start somewhere else ...

A last call came from the transmitter. Jean's son reminded him that the time had come to leave. Some of his companions had stayed with him. Faithful guards, they did not want Jean to stay on this world dedicated to total destruction.

Jean lowered his eyes, and with a gesture invited them to join the flight area. They waited for the last shuttle: the sixteenth ...

The one coming down had nothing to do with the others. She was like a radiant crystal. She was not of the same conception as the others. On its flanks was engraved a sign. Jean knew what he represented. The sign, its sign, like the one before it came into this world. At that moment, he understood what that meant. He would not be long in meeting the one he wanted to know so much.

They all boarded. As the shuttle flew through the air, they could see the glowing foundations of their world that were growing more and more cracked. The oceans raised from their unfathomable abysses tongues mixed with water and fire. They swept over the barren lands, carrying them away like straws. Contemplating this disaster, the companions of Jean knew that no link would bind them more to this land deprived of light.
